Its interesting to know that the national open university of Nigeria fondly called NOUN was first opened in 1983 but it soon got its suspension in 1984. It was the former president, chief Olusegun Obasanjo who relaunch the university in 2002. Thus the university came to stay.

 

The university is designed to make learning easier. With NOUN, you can study and do several other things as it is structured to make you learn at your pase and at a distant. The institution has a well known slogan which is “work and learn” which means you can be employed and still be actively studying.

 

The university offers lots of courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The institution academic programmes are grouped into schools which include School of Law, School of Science and Technology, School of Health Science, School of Education, School of Arts and Social Sciences and School of Management Sciences.

 

The university’s admission doesn’t come with high demands in terms of requirements when compared to its counterparts in the country. You are required to have a good o level results in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB. That should be five (5) credit passes in any of these examinations at not more than two sittings. How To Get The Course Materials Online

The university has lots of academic materials database online for all their schools and courses. Here are step by step guide to take advantage of the online academic material database;

  1. Log on to the online courseware for the institution here, http://www.nou.edu.ng/page/noun-e-courseware
  2. On the new page, you can then search for the course code or course name depending on the one that you have. There are lots of course materials there and they are grouped first into schools and also into courses. It might be best to search by course code if you have it. Here is a great tip, ensure you leave a space between the course name and the number when typing. That is, it should be like this ECN 432 not ECN432.
  3. A link will be provided to you for the download, click on the link and it will either pop up a download notification for you to download by clicking OK or it will open the material. If it open the material, simply click on menu and select save option, choose location to save it and click on save. It will be saved on your device.

With these three steps, your materials will be right on your device. You can repeat these steps for each of the courses on your course form list so as to get all course materials. Please note that all materials are in PDF formats and you don’t even need to login to download these materials, meaning anyone can download them.
