United Bank For Africa (UBA) is one of Nigeria’s oldest banks and they have been providing uninterrupted banking operations for more than 68 years to the Nigerian populace. United Bank For Africa (UBA) goes back as far as 1948, when it name was British and French Bank Limited (“BFB”) before it was later named United Bank for Africa (UBA) a year after Nigeria’s independence in 1961.

UBA is one of the Nigeria’s most reliable banks in the Banking Industry right now with a very large customer base.

In order to ease Banking operations for their customers, they launched a Mobile Banking platform that enables customers perform virtually most of their banking transactions from their phones. Customers of UBA can easily buy recharge, transfer funds, pay for bills and do lots more without having to visit any UBA Bank.

 

How To Register Or Get Started

  1. Go to your phone’s App store and search for the keyword “U-mobile.
  2. Download and install it.
  3. Launch the App.
  4. A message prompting you to ” Agree or Disagree” to UBA terms would be displayed, click on “Agree”.
  5. Click on Sign up
  6. You’d be asked to Create a password, create your password.
  7. Select if you want ” Instantly Sign up ” or “Sign Up in a Branch”.

 

For Instant Sign Up

There are three options:

  • Option 1: Use Account + Token (N.B. your existing token for U-Direct can be used here)
  • Option 2: Use UBA debit card
  • Option 3: Use UBA Prepaid Card

Select the one your prefer, enter the required details and create a pin.

For “In-Branch”

This is done at a UBA branch, simply visit any UBA branch closest to you to get started.

 

How To Buy Airtime

  1. Login with your phone number and password.
  2. On the homepage click on “Buy Airtime”
  3. Enter the phone number, the amount and the other necessary details.
  4. Input your pin to confirm the transaction.

 

How To Transfer Funds

  1. Login with your phone number and password.
  2. On the homepage, select the “Send Money” icon.
  3. You’ll be taken to a “Funds Transfer” page.
  4. Select from the list if you wish to send to a UBA Account(Inside UBA), other banks(Outside UBA), a phone number or a debit card.
  5. Input the details of the Account you wish to send it to, with the amount.
  6. Enter your pin to confirm.

NB: PIN gives the lowest limit (i.e. N20k per day), followed by OTP (i.e. N200k per day) and then Token (i.e. N1m per day).

 

To Increase Your Transfer Limit

  1. Login to the app
  2. Click on the menu button
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Change Approval Method to change from one approval method to another.

 

How To Check Your Balance

  1. login into the App.
  2. Select “My Money” on the homepage and your account balance would be displayed to you.

 

How To Change Your Pin or Password

  1. Login into the App
  2. Click on the Menu Bar
  3. Select settings.
  4. In the settings page, click on Change password or pin (whichever you want to do)
  5. Input your old pin or password and enter the new password or pin that you’ve selected.
