In this review we would be looking at Union Bank Internet Banking, as we know Union Bank of Nigeria (“UBN”) is one of Nigeria’s oldest and most respected banks and it was established in 1917 when it was first established as Colonial Bank. The bank assumed the name Union Bank in the year 1990 after going through some ownership changes and reformations.

They currently have over 300 branches and 760 ATMs all over Nigeria.

 

One of their main aim is to improve customer experience and make banking transactions easier for their customers through technology. This can be seen with the introduction of their online and mobile banking platforms.

Union Bank of Nigeria mobile app is called “Union” Mobile it enables customers to:

  • Check your account balance
  • Transfer Funds
  • Airtime Top up.
  • Pay bills – utility, DSTV, etc
  • And lots more…

 

How To Register And Activate The App

For Android, IOS, BlackBerry and Windows phone users:

  • Simply go to your phone’s App store and search for the keyword “UnionMobile”.
  • Download and Install the App.

 

For Java Phone Users:

  • Simply send SMS ‘D UNION’ to 20220 and the link to download it directly would be sent to your phone.

• Download and Install.

 

After Installing the App

  1. Launch the Union Mobile App from your phone.
  2. On the login page, click on new user.
  3. Input the necessary credentials including your phone number, account number, your preferred pin and password.

NB: Your phone number must be connected to your Union Bank Account i.e the phone number you used in opening your Union Bank Account.

The Password that you’ll create is for you to login, while the pin would be used whenever you want to authenticate transactions.

How To Transfer Funds From Your Account

  1. Login into the App with your mobile number and the password you created when registering.
  2. On the App’s home page, you’ll see different options, simply click on the “Send Money” icon.
  3. On the next page, select if you transfer to a Bank Account, ATM cardlex cash or to a Saved Beneficiary.
  4. If you’re transferring to a Bank Account, select the bank account you wish to transfer to, whether it is a Union Bank account or other banks.
  5. After selecting the bank, input the account details of the person you wish to send it to.
  6. Enter your pin and confirm the transaction.

 

How To Check Your Account Balance

  1. Login into the App with your mobile number and the password you created when registering.
  2. On the App’s home page, you’ll see different options, simply click on “view your accounts.”
  3. Your account balance would ne displayed to you.

 

How To Buy Airtime

  1. 1. Login into the App with your mobile number and the password you created when registering.
  2. On the App’s home page, you’ll see different options, simply click on the “Airtime Top up” icon.
  3. On the next page, enter the number, select the network, the amount and the account to use to buy airtime.
  4. Input your pin to authenticate the transaction.

 

How To Change Your Pin And Password

  1. 1. Login into the App with your mobile number and the password you created when registering.
  2. On the App’s home page, click on the Menu Button.
  3. Select Security from the list of options.
  4. Select “Change Password” or “Change Pin”, whichever you wish to do at the moment.
  5. On the next page, input your old pin or password.
  6. Enter your new pin or password and confirm.
