Transactions alert is a way by which you are informed or carried along of happenings in your bank account. With it, you are informed of how much you are charged and the reason for the charges. It also means you get notified of how much comes into or goes out of your bank account and from who even if its by you.

 

In first Bank, there are two types of alerts services available for her customers. All customers are allowed to either choose one or use the two types. These alert types are the SMS alert and Email alert. The former attracts charges while the later is at no cost to the customer. These two options are usually made available in every Nigerian banks.

 

For the SMS alert service, it is usually activated upon the mobile number registered with the bank account at the point of registration. Note that, this is not automatic, you have to tick it in the account opening form. It usually attract a monthly charge which differs from one account to another because of the number of transactions performed.

How To Remove SMS Alert On First Bank Internet Banking

To remove the SMS alert via the internet banking platform, its quite simple but you are required to firstly be registered on the internet banking platform. Internet banking grant you access to your bank account online at anytime from anywhere in the world. Let begin with the registration;

  1. Visit any first Bank branch close to you
  2. Navigate to the customer service desk and make your intention known
  3. You will be provided with a form to fill. Fill in the details and ensure you verify them before you submit.
  4. Your login details will then be sent to your email. You are now registered on the platform, you may login.
  5. Change your password upon successful login
  6. Choose and answer four (4) security questions
  7. Then create your True Stamp by creating a word or phrase with a picture and you are good to go.

 

Now to remove the SMS alert via the internet banking platform, kindly follow the steps below;

  1. Log on to www.firstbanknigeria.com
  2. Navigate and click on the online banking tab
  3. Sign in with your login details
  4. From the menu, select the alert tab.
  5. From here, you can disable the SMS alert service
  6. Then follow through the security check to ensure its your account and save the change. Once successful, you will no longer get the SMS alert and you won’t be charged as well.

 

 

How To Change Your Phone Number On First Bank Internet Banking

You may as change your phone number via the first Bank internet banking too, here are steps to do so;

  1. Log on to www.firstbanknigeria.com
  2. Navigate and click on the online banking tab
  3. Sign in with your login details
  4. From the menu, select the information update tab.
  5. Then click the phone number edit icon to change the number.
  6. Verify the inputted mobile number
  7. Go through the security check and save the change.

 

This procedure is not really different with other banks. You have to register first and then login into your account to carry out the changes you want.
