If you need information about how to go about registering for the examination or how to check your results once they are out then this post is for you.
Here is all you need to know about getting enrolled for Jamb Utme examination and going through the entire process that takes you to school.
Eligibility To Apply For Jamb Utme Examination
To be eligible to apply for the Jamb Utme screening, you must meet the general entry requirements for your desired programme. The programmes covered by Jamb include First Degree such as B.SC, LL.B, MBBS, DVM, etc; Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND) and National Innovation Diploma (NID). The institutions covered include Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and other tertiary institutions.

Choosing Your Institutions
Unlike the way it was in the past, with the introduction of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, you must choose one University, one Polytechnic and one College of Education in your form. However, you can reverse the order and choose these schools in the order that you like. For example, you can make a college of education your first choice.
Venue And Date Of The Examination
The examination is usually taken at designated centres called CBT centred and the date is as is announced every year.
How To Apply For The Exercise
To apply, you must pay the sum of five thousand and five hundred naira (#5500) only. The extra five hundred naira is for the compulsory read. After making this payment, candidates will now proceed to obtain an ePin that enables them to access the form. This amount can be paid at ePin selling points which includes but is not limited to banks.
The first thing a candidate will be expected to do before he can obtain a pin is to open a profile on the Jamb portal. Here is how to do that:
- Send your name as a text message to 55019. For example, Bola Asubia Lema to 55019.
- You will receive a profile code
- Use the profile code to obtain your ePin by presenting it at your point of purchase.
Note that only one candidate can use one phone number.
If you lose your profile code, simply type RESEND to 55019 from the same phone number.
Online Payments For Epin/Scratch Card
If you are paying online for your ePin:
- Go to www.jamb.gov.ng
- Navigate to and click “Purchase of 2018 Application Document”
- Input your profile code
- Choose your payment method. This would be either Interswitch or Remita
- Click on make payment or pay
- You will receive your ePin on your phone number.
The next step is to present your ePin at the CBT centre nearest to you to finish up your registration. Do not make any mistakes because your name is automatically inputed on the ePin and you cannot change it at this point.
