Sciences gained a place in the school curriculum by its introduction for the first time at Rugby School of England in 1849. The only subject that was taught at the school was physics, chemistry, geology and botany. The teaching of science was outstanding due to the combination of H. E. Armstrong in the 19th century.
The 20th century was the age of rapid development of science education all over the world.
Science education is the field that deals with science content sharing and processes. Science allows students discover new things and explore their world with much curiosity. It also is an important and active subject having activities.
In Nigeria, teaching of science started in Lagos when Christian missionaries introduced the western education during the establishment of Church Missionary Society (CMS) Grammar school in 1859. Science education foundation was created and was introduced into the school curriculum which include subjects like Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Physiology.
Today, in Nigeria, science subject are been taught from primary from primary school to secondary and university leading to the advancement research and development.
