Nigerian International Passport: How To Apply, Current Cost, Price And Collection Point

International passport is a vita document for any traveller worldwide. For anyone to visit any African country or European and any other place in the world, the person must have an international passport, because it’s like a gate pass to every traveller.

Today, we will be showing you how to apply for your own international passport, the requirement that is needed, cost and how to collect it. But before we proceed, note that there are differences between an international passport and ECOWAS passport. ECOWAS passport only limit your travel to the 15 West African countries, while international passport allows you to travel to any country in the world.

 

How To Apply

The application for the Nigerian international passport is done either offline or online, which will still give you the hardcopy passport no matter the process you choose.

 

The Offline Process

If you choose to process your application offline through an agent, you should know that this kind of process takes very long to process. You should also be very careful the kind of agent you work with so you don’t get scammed on the process or loss your important document to the agent.

For those applying for a new passport, note that it takes about 48 hours to process after they must have captured your bio-metric data. The passport process can still take up to 1 month depending on the agent you choose to work with.

The Online Process

• Go to the web portal of the Nigerian immigration services
• Choose your processing country
• Fill the application form
• Scan all the required document and upload them
• Choose a payment method
• Then you can click on the submit button after payment is completed
• You will be given a reference number and an application ID
• The guarantors form should be printed and certified
• The completed application form with all required document should be submitted personally at your preferred passport office.

Please note that you need to be present at the immigration office to do your bio-metric and take a photograph.

 

 

The Requirement For International Passport

For adults that are 18 years and above

• You need a completed passport application form
• You need to show proof of payment
• You need a birth certificate
• You need to have two current passport photograph
• You need to present your local government identification letter/ state of origin.
• You will need to submit a completed guarantors form with a duplicate copy of the data page of your guarantor e-passport with one passport photograph of your guarantor
• Marriage certificate for married person

 

 

The Current Price For International Passport In Nigeria

The Nigerian international passport have two type, the 32 pages and the 64 pages.

 

The Cost Price For 32 Pages

• For all adults between the ages of 18 to 59 will pay the sum of N15,000
• For children who are not more than 17 years old and adults who are 60 years plus, will pay the sum of N8,750
• The amount to verify applicant address is the sum of N2000

 

The Cost Price For 64 Pages

• The 64 pages passport is N20,000 for all ages
• The amount to verify applicant address is the sum of N2000
