Zenith Bank launched a mobile USSD banking solution to enable easier and effortless banking transactions. The bank’s USSD is *966# fondly referred to as Eazybanking solution by the Bank. This is to complement the effort of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to build and effect a cashless economy.

The Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) banking solution makes it possible for people to carryout financial transactions on all known mobile phones without going to bank branches or having to go online or download a mobile app.


With the USSD Banking solution, it is an easy, convenient, fast and secure way to access your bank account anytime any day via your mobile phone without internet data.

This Mobile Banking service can be used by all individual account holders with any type of phone as long as it is connected via network in Nigeria. All the 15 retails account are eligible to use this mobile banking solution except domiciliary, ZECA and Premium (Gold and Platinum) accounts.


Registration Procedure

To take advantage of this banking solution, you will need to register on the platform as a zenith Bank customer. To register as a Zenith Bank customer, kindly go through the steps below on your registered number with your Zenith Bank account on which you normally receive alerts for your transactions.

  1. Simply dial *966*00# with your mobile number where you do receive your alert.
  2. You will get a prompt requesting you to enter the last 4 digits of your Debit (ATM) card number. Please do.
  3. The next prompt you will get will display your Account Name and you will be required to create a 4 digit PIN. Please input 4 digit PIN that you can easily remember but that will be difficult for anyone to guess right.
  4. You will get another prompt to confirm the 4 digit PIN. Please reenter the PIN.
  5. If the process is successful, you will get a message “ Retrieving your balance “
  6. You will then receive an SMS containing your account balance.


Account Opening Process

If you are not a Zenith Bank account holder and you wish to become one, here is an opportunity for you to do so without having to visit Bank branches.

All you need to do is to dial *966*0# and follow through the onscreen prompts. An account number will be created automatically which you will receive via SMS. With this, you avoid bank ques, unreasonable attitudes of customer service agents and application forms. Account opening just got a lot easier.

How To Check Account Balance

From anywhere at any point in time, you can easily check your account balance to know how much you have left.

To check for balances on any of your accounts, please dial; *966*00# on your mobile phone and follow the on-screen prompts and your balance will be revealed to you.



Airtime Purchase

With this mobile USSD, you can purchase airtime for your registered mobile number on which you get alert and as well for friends and loved ones directly from your account.

To recharge for yourself, simply dial *966*amount# on your registered mobile. That is, if you want to recharge N400 on your line, simply dial *966*400# and it will be recharged instantly while you also get alerts for the transaction.

To recharge for another line, simply dial *966*Amount*Mobile Number# on your phone. That is, if you want to recharge N1000 on 08034567890, simply dial  *966*1000*08034567890# and the person will be recharged while you also get transaction notification.


Fund Transfer

The code as well enables customer to transfer money conveniently. To do this, simply follow this *966*Amount*Account Number#. That is, to transfer N1000 to the account number 1234567890, dial *966*1000*1234567890# from the phone number you registered with Zenith Bank, then follow the on-screen prompts.


Transaction Limit

With this USSD, the cumulative money transfer limit is set at N100,000 (One hundred thousand Naira) per day while the cumulative transaction limit on the Airtime top-up part is set at N3,000.00 (Three thousand Naira) per day.
