It is true that Nigerian passport holders need a tourist visa to visit the United States. However, the good news is that the process of getting it is very simple. Here Is How You Can Book A U.S Visa Interview Appointment
As a general requirement, a citizen of a foreign country who intends to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, no matter the type, either a non-immigrant visa, which is for short stay or an immigrant visa, which for a permanent residence. Although a citizens of qualified countries might also be able to visit the U.S. without a visa, but must be under the visa waiver program by the US. For those who do not qualify for the Visa Waiver Program or those who are traveling to work, study, or participate in any exchange program, then you must apply for the non-immigrant US visa.
Please note that all applicants for the U.S. visas are meant to come in person for the visa interview at the U.S embassy in Abuja or the Consulate General in Lagos. Note that for you to book a non-immigrant visa interview appointment, you need to have the following information and documents available:
- You need an international passport that is valid for travel to the United States with a validity period of at least six months beyond your planned period of stay in the United States. However, if you have more than one person in your passport, then, note that each person desiring a visa must submit a different application.
- You need to provide your visa application fee payment receipt
- Get a proof of your DS-160 confirmation page
- You also need a valid e-mail address and telephone number
Please note that all applicants are limited to the number of times they can reschedule any visa interview appointments. All applicants should ensure they plan accordingly so that they will not be required to pay another visa application fee.
